The half Chinese, half Israelite company has finally revealed what they are bringing to the Geneva Motor Show in a few weeks. Qoros will introduce the production version of the Qoros 3 Sedan, together with two new concepts: The Qoros 3 Cross Hybrid Concept and the Qoros 3 Estate Concept. Those two cars look almost production ready so we don't expect to see big changes for the production cars.
The Qoros 3 Sedan is actually a good looking car. It is approximately 4615mm long and 1839mm wide, so it is rather large for its segment. Engine options include two four-cylinder 1.6 liter units, one naturally-aspirated with an output of 126hp (93kW) and 155Nm, and a turbocharged version producing 156hp (115kW) and 210Nm of maximum torque. Both engines have a six-speed manual transmission as standard, with a six-speed dual clutch transmission as optional.
Qoros, together with AVL, is working on a three-cylinder 1.2liter turbocharged engine and an all-new four-cylinder 1.6liter turbocharged engine, both with GDI (gasoline direct injection). In the interior it is worth mentioning the eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is standrad in all version of the Qoros 3 Sedan.
The first of the concepts is the Qoros 3 Cross Hybrid which is a crossover with a hatchback body and an advanced hybrid drivetrain, composed of a three-cylinder turbocharged 1.2-litre petrol engine, an electric motor above the rear axle, and a second electric motor called the Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) mounted between the petrol engine and the transmission.
The last car is the Qoros 3 Estate which is basically the Sedan with an elongated roofline and a larger tailgate allowing for a larger luggage capacity. Engines options should be the same of the Sedan.
Sales of the Qoros 3 Sedan will start in China in the second half of 2013, with the first European sales following later in the year. Production will take place in a new assembly plant in Changshu, China, and the development had the help of well known companies like Magna Steyr, TRW, Continental, Bosch, Getrag, Benteler, Lear, Microsoft, Harman, Neusoft-Alpine and Iconmobile.
