Will the Maserati Ghibli look like this?

This few images of what appear to be a scale model (see them below) of the Maserati Ghibli (M157) just showed up in another blog. While we cannot confirm the authenticity of the pictures (i mean if they are really from Maserati or if they are from the Ghibli) they actually look a lot like the Ghibli test/development mules. Well at least from we got to see.

It looks a lot like the Quattroporte, only smaller, and that isn't a good thing. We do know that this is the final of the Ghibli because the lights will be a little bit different and some other small details, but if it turns out to be true we now have a good idea of what it will look like. What do you think? Does it look good?

2014 Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale revealed ahead of the Geneva Motor Show

Like most new cars that were introduced in the last weeks, the 2014 Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale will also have its premiere at the Geneva Motor Show with an updated engine, a few improved exterior details and one big change inside.

And the big change in the interior is the inclusion of the rear seats, since the Stradale versions did not have them to help reduce weight. But while the car is heavier it also has an improved 4.7 liter V8 engine that now produces 460hp with lower CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.

The gearbox is the six-speed manual robotized MC Race Shift, and the car now achieves a top speed of 303km/h (188mph) while the 0 to 100km/h (62mph) run is done in around 4.5 seconds.

Outside Maserati added a new carbon fiber bonnet/hood with a central air intake, two rear extractors and 20 inch forged alloy rims around the standard Brembo carbon ceramic brake discs.

GranTurismo MC Stradale Revealed

The MC Stradale will be the star on the Maserati stand, alongside all the new Quattroporte versions as they make their European debut

Modena, 27 February 2013. From the moment the spotlight hits the new range - starting with the new Quattroporte, set to make its European debut at the Geneva Motorshow - Maserati also revamps those luxury sports models which provided the basis for the brand's growth.

In line with this philosophy, Geneva will see the world debut of the new four seater GranTurismo MC Stradale, the optimum expression of sportiness combined with the luxury of a coupé made in Modena. Although the new Quattroporte is the first Maserati to be built at the new Giovanni Agnelli plant in Grugliasco (Turin), the GranTurismo MC Stradale will in fact be built at the historic factory in viale Ciro Menotti in Modena.

Just like the previous two seater version, the new four seater GranTurismo MC Stradale takes its inspiration from the racing version which competes in the Maserati Trofeo Championship, offering the perfect combination of sportiness, luxury and elegance, comfort and style, functionality and dynamism - that can now be enjoyed by four people. The new aesthetic exterior features, with their clear racing edge, are highlighted by the new carbon fibre bonnet which frames a central air intake and two rear extractors and by the new forged 20" alloy rims. The new GranTurismo MC Stradale boasts a cabin that has four comfortable seats and an interior design featuring new materials and style.

The new GranTurismo MC Stradale also features the 4.7 litre, 460 HP aspirated V8 engine which made its debut in the GranTurismo Sport and which is now fitted to the entire 4.7 litre GranTurismo range. Combined with an MC Race Shift 6-speed robotised manual gearbox, this engine ensures outstanding performance - with a top speed of 188 mph - which can be enjoyed in this new four passenger configuration. The safety of the vehicle is guaranteed by the Brembo carbon ceramic brake discs. The new GranTurismo MC Stradale also benefits from the work carried out on the latest engine range to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

Is this the future Maserati Levante?

The model previously known as the Kubang had what seems to be two patent drawings leaked on the web. The new Italian SUV will be built at Fiat’s Mirafiori plant (confirmation needed). It will ride on the same platform as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but according to Sergio Marchionne will be "pure Maserati", whatever that means.

Ferrari will provide some of the engines, while a diesel option is still on the table, but with a tuned exhaust to mask the sound coming from this "oil burner". The gearbox should be an eight-speed automatic made by ZF.

New Maserati Quattroporte [Video]

Maserati has started to reveal some details about the new Quattroporte and to begin released pictures from every angle imaginable of the car. The car looks more agressive with the major changes happening in the back. Public will have access to the vehicle in the Detroit Motor Show next January.

The mechanical parts are still unknown, but according to Autocar UK the new Quattroporte is now bigger, lighter, faster and more luxurious. It will have a new steel monocoque measuring around 5200mm in length with a bigger wheelbase for a larger legroom for the rear passengers, that is particularly important for the Chinese market. Regarding the weight it is expected the car will lose about 50kg, lowering it from almost 2 tons to a value closer to 1900kg. This reduction is obtained thanks to the use of aluminum in the body.

To start Maserati will offer a V8 Ferrari-sourced engine based on the 453bhp 4.7-litre V8 used in the Granturismo with an increase of power (rumors point to 530bhp), a lower fuel consumption and emissions, connected to a ZF-supplied XF automatic gearbox. Later the engines choices will rise to include smaller V6 and V8 blocks, diesel and petrol and an all wheel drive option will also be included.

In the inside we now get a larger touchscreen to control most of the functions in the car involved by high quality woods and leathers for a more luxurious look and feel. It will be built in the old Bertone plant at Bertone, just outside Turin.

It is expected the base Quattroporte will cost around 100.000€ (80.000£ or 130.000$) and more luxurious will cost over 150.000€ (120.000£ or 190.000$).
