2014 Lexus IS F-Sport revealed ahead of Detroit presentation - HQ Images
The third generation of the Lexus IS was scheduled to debut at the Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) next week, January 15, but today a few low-quality images were disclosed of the F-sport version.
This is the F-Sport, not the IS F that should be presented later this eyar. This version includes a new aerodynamic kit, larger wheels, a special finish of the front grille, while inside we have some aesthetic modifications in order to make it look more sporty.
The engines will be the same used in the other IS versions, starting with two V6 powerplants, a 2.5liter and a 3.5liter, while later a four cylinder hybrid should appear, and maybe even a diesel.

The next-generation Lexus IS will offer subscription-free traffic and weather information
Lexus announced that the new generation of the IS, which will be presented at the Detroit Auto Show starting next week, will be the first production model to offer subscription-free traffic and weather information on integrated audio systems.
This feature is made possible thanks to a partnership with iBiquity developer of the HD Radio™ and will be standard on all versions of the Lexus IS with display audio or optional navigation systems.

Lexus sells over 500.000 hybrid vehicles
More and more people buy hybrid cars because they think those are an environmentally better alternative to conventional vehicles that use less fuel and has lower emissions, which is true, they are, but not by much.
So the fact that one brand has sold more than 506 thousand hybrid cars since 2005 is something that deserves highlighting. Lexus first hybrid vehicle was the RX 400h SUV, launched in 2005, and was replaced in 2009 by the RX 450h selling over 259.000 units sold globally from 2005 untill November 2012, yet the main market for Lexus is the European with 126.000 units sold, representing about 25% of global hybrid sales.

The most recent hybrid vehicle sold by Lexus is the ES 300h, pictured above, and achieved sales of 8.000 cars in selected markets like the U.S.A., Russia, China, and other Asian countries. Overall, hybrid vehicles represent about 25% of total Lexus sales.

The reveal will take place at the Detroit Auto Show on Tuesday, January 15th at 9:30am, and will broadcasted live from the Lexus website. Oh, and yes, it looks like the Nike logo.

Production of the Lexus LFA ends.
On December 14 the last, 500th LFA was completed and will be delivered to its owner after final inspection and road testing, marking an era for Lexus.
This car was a white right hand drive LFA Nurburgring Edition, with a hand built 4.8liter V10 engine producing over 550hp and 480Nm (354lb/ft) connected to a six-speed automated sequential gearbox (ASG) making the car reach 100km/h in less than 4 seconds.

Each car took one day to be done and production started December 2010, while production of the LFA Nürburgring Package started in January 2012 with only 50 cars built until today.
Lexus says future vehicles will use what was learned from the LFA, including the design and the production of carbon fiber reinforced plastic parts.

Toyota Motosport (TMG) shows their new creation, the Lexus LS460
We all recognize that the Lexus LS is a very valid alternative to the German trio of BMW, Audi and Mercedes, but now the folks at Toyota Motorsport took the car to another level and created the TMG Sport 460 to be displayed at the Essen Motor Show.
This beast packs a crazy 650hp from its twin turbo 5.0liter V8 engine and, with the help of an eight speed automatic gearbox, is able to achieve a top speed of 320km/h (200mph). The aerodynamics was changed, and along with a spoiler, the downward force was increased helping keep the car glued to the road. The breaking system was also improved to assist the driver when he wants to stop those 650 horses.
