The new Subaru BRZ is going much better in its home market than what the Japanese automaker was expecting.Since sales started in Japan on February 3 and through March 27, Subaru has delivered 3,551 units of its rear-wheel drive sports coupe. That's almost quadruple the initial sales forecast of 450 cars per month.
The BRZ is available in three trim levels in Japan, with prices starting from 2,058,000 Yen (US$24,980 / €18,890) for the base, stripped out RA model .
According to the Japanese automaker, a whopping 78.4% of buyers opt for the top grade 'S' model, with the standard 'R' version taking 18.5% and the 'RA' just 3.1%. Not surprisingly, 66.3 percent order the car with a manual gearbox while the most popular color to date is the blue mica with 33.9 percent followed closely by the satin white pearl with 24.4 percent.
