The Audi A3 Sedan revealed in the premiere of the Audi MediaTV channel

Meet the new member of the third generation A3 family, the new A3 Sedan (In the picture above you have the S3 Sedan). With the public presentation scheduled for the Shanghai Motor Show that will take place from April 21 to April 29 (Press day: April 20), Audi decided to show a little bit of the car on their new online channel, Audi MediaTV.

The S3 Sedan you see here is very similar to both the concept from which it was born and the rest of the A3 family, but it still looks good. It has an overall length of 4.46 meters (14.63ft) and a 2.64 meter (8.66 ft) long wheelbase, giving the car short overhangs.

The engine in this car is the four-cylinder turbocharged 2.0 liter with 300PS (221kW) and 380Nm (280lb/ft) of torque. It has an estimated fuel consumption of 6.9 liters per 100km (34.1 US mpg or 40.9 UK mpg) if you use the S-Tronic automatic transmission or 7.0 liters if you have the six-speed manual transmission (33.6 US mpg or 40.4 UK mpg).

Top speed is limited to 250km/h (155mph) and will accelerate from standstill to 100km/h (62mph) in around 4.9 seconds when using the S-Tronic or 5.3 seconds with the manual gearbox.

The A3 Sedan will be available with the 2.0liter TDI (150PS [110kW], 320Nm [236lb/ft], 0 to 100km/h [62mph] in 8.7 seconds, top speed of 220km/h [137mph], combined fuel consumption of 4.1l/100km [57.37 US mpg], CO2 emissions of 107g/km [172g/mile]), the 1.4liter TFSI (140PS [103kW], 250Nm [184lb/ft], 0 to 100km/h [62mph] in 8.4 seconds, top speed of 217km/h [135mph], combined fuel consumption of 4.7l/100km [50.05 US mpg], CO2 emissions of 109g/km [175g/mile]), and the 1.8liter TFSI (180PS [132kW], 250Nm [184lb/ft], 0 to 100km/h [62mph] in 7.3 seconds, top speed of 235km/h [146mph], combined fuel consumption of 5.6l/100km [42 US mpg], CO2 emissions of 129g/km [208g/mile]).

When equipped with the 1.4liter TFSI engine the car only weighs 1250 kg (2756lb) and a trunk with a capacity of 425 liters. Inside we ahve the same features found the the other A3 models, including the MMI Radio system with the extending screen, MMI Navigation plus with an SSD hard drive offering 64 GB of storage, a DVD drive and whole-word voice control with a high-resolution 7 inch screen, Bang & Olufsen sound system, and a choice between fabric covers, artificial leather, Milano leather, Pearl nappa leather and Alcantara.

Citroen DSX - A new SUV from the French company

Supposedly, in the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show Citroen will reveal to the public the DSX, a mid-size SUV concept that will rival the Audi Q5 and the BMW X3. Several sources indicate that it will use the same platform as the DS5 and will have a lenght of around 4700mm. The production version should be introduced in 2014.

For now we only get to see this (bad) image taken probably from the shooting for a video advertising that will be released during or even before the Shanghai Motor Show.

The new SUV seems to have been inspired on the Citroen 9 Concept. A concept that will lose the characteristic double chevron from the French brand.

Audi teases the new A3 sedan. Introduces the MediaTV. [Video]

Starting from March 27, Audi will have its own online channel (they have a channel in Youtube) where you will be able to follow the live broadcasts of world premieres, press conferences and other events exclusively in English. And promote the new channel managed by Audi Communications, the German company teased the upcoming A3 Sedan.

Since the channel will go live on March 27, the first thing that will be transmitted is a sneak preview of the new model. This date coincides with the start of the New York International Auto Show and the Seoul Motor Show, but nothing was said about a public presentation that is more likely to happen at the Shanghai Motor Show in April.
