The 2014 Scion tC had its debut at the New York International Auto Show

Scion, which is a brand of vehicles made by Toyota especially for the North American market, revealed the new tC at the New York International Auto Show. The tC accounts for 40 percent of all Scions ever sold, so it is normal that the U.S. company wants to keep this vehicle modern.

To do that that they gave the new tC new head lamps, new hood, a more muscular grille similar to the one used in the FR-S, new black-out valance, modern LED tail lamps and new 18 inch alloy wheels with 225/45R18 tires.

Inside we will find higher quality materials and new technologies. The new Scion Standard Display Audio now includes a 6.1 inch LCD touchscreen, Bluetooth and HD Radio Technology with steering wheel-mounted controls. If you want something even better, Scion has available the Scion BeSpoke Premium Audio system. It features full navigation and access to 30000 free audio stations via AHA.

The sportier feel is enhanced with the four cylinder, 2.5 liter engine that produces 181PS (179hp or 133kW) @6000rpm. Torque figures weren't revealed, but we do now you can choose between a six-speed manual gearbox or an improved six-speed automatic transmission.

Upgrades have also been made to the stabilizer bar hardware and electronic power steering.

Scion also revealed a limited edition celebrating the brand's 10th Anniversary, called Scion 10 Series (he xB, iQ, and xD will have one). The 10 Series tC will be painted in Silver Ignition, will show a special message shown in the dashboard saying Scion before fading into the number 10, will have silver seat belts, a solar-powered illuminated shift knob and a LED Scion badge that illuminates when you unlock the car.

2014 Scion tC Sports Coupe coming to the New York International Auto Show

Scion released one of the shortest press releases i have ever seen. It's almost impossible to write a decent article with just two articles saying they will debut the new Scion tC Sports Coupe at the New York International Auto Show in a press conference that will take place on March 28, at 9:55 a.m. Eastern Time (13:55 GMT) in the Galleria Level Four at the Jacob Javits Center.

And that is it. Check out the teaser below, that is even less revealing that the press release. Check the live reveal from the Scion website.

Gazoo Racing creates the GRMN SPORTS FR Concept PLATINUM [Video]

Gazoo Racing has a long partnership with Toyota, creating several concepts and racing cars for the Japanese automaker, and recently revealed another at the Tokyo Auto Salon, based on the Toyota GT86/Scion FR-S, called the GRMN SPORTS FR Concept PLATINUM.

I have to be honest, the car looks like one of the concepts shown by Lotus in 2010, but that isn't a bad thing. Gazoo changed a lot of things, starting with the redesigned front, with new headlamps, tail lights, bumpers, hood and a rather large rear wing.

On the inside we have a roll cage, bucket seats with four-point seat belt, a new steering wheel and several other changes with a two-tone interior.

For a lot of people the 200hp taken from the 4U-GSE naturally aspirated four-cylinder boxer engine is just not enough, so the good people at Gazoo Racing added a turbocharger and a supercharger raising the maximum power to 330hp and the torque to 431Nm (318 lb/ft).

Connected to the boxer engine is a six-speed manual transmission which in turn is attached to a mechanical limited slip differential driving the rear wheels. Other changes have been made to the suspension, brakes and wheels.
