At the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, Hamann Motorsport had unveiled a tuned version of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG called the Hawk. One year later, the German tuner returns to the same venue to give the Hawk treatment to theroadster version of the SLS AMG.
The open-top model's naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 is upgraded with remapped electronics, a high performance exhaust system and a sports air filter that all do their part to lift output from 563hp (571PS) and 650Nm (479.3 lb-ft) to 627hp (636PS) and 680Nm(501.7 lb-ft) of torque.
The 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint is dispatched in 3.6 seconds, 0.2 faster than the regular SLS AMG Roadster, while top speed has been increased from 317 to 320 km/h (197 to 199 mph).
Hamann claims that the Hawk Roadster’s aerodynamic package has been optimized in the wind tunnel. The redesigned front bumper reduces lift at the front axle and its larger air intakes along with the carbon hood's extra outlets provide better cooling to the engine. The new body kit also increases the Roadster’s width by 120mm up front and 140mm at the back.
Other upgrades include the 30mm lowered coil-over suspension, a different set of 21-inch alloys, a rear diffuser and four exhaust pipes with a diameter of 90 mm.
