Making its world premiere today at the 82nd Geneva International Auto Show is the 2013 Koenigsegg Agera range that consists of the regular model and the more extreme 'R' variant.
The company that was founded in 1994 in Sweden by Christian von Koenigsegg has presented a number of updates to its Agera supercar for the new model year.
Beginning with the common changes, both versions of the Agera gain a new, in-house developed engine management system, which is claimed to provide added functionality whilst still meeting all OBD II regulations, and a standard electronic stability program.
Furthermore, their engines get nano-surfaced cylinder sleeves from ANS for reduced friction and fuel consumption.
The regular Agera also benefits from a revised suspension with new bits from Swedish shock manufacturer Öhlins Racing, while the rev limiter has been raised from 7,250 rpm to 7,500 rpm lifting output from 940hp to 960hp.
There are more changes to be found on the 2013 Agera R starting with the new, super light carbon fiber wheels named 'Aircore', which the company says save close to 20kg (44 pounds) from the previous version. The only metal part in the wheel is the tire valve as the rest is all one single hollow piece of carbon fiber.
Also new is the lighter exhaust system and the added front and side winglets, which Koenigsegg claims provide 20kg more downforce at 250km/h (155mph) while also reducing drag.
As with the base Agera, the Swedish firm's engineers lifted the V8 engine's limiter in the R from 7,250 rpm to 7,500 rpm and as a result, power is up from 1,115hp to 1,140hp.
