Volvo reveals the new S60, V60 and XC60 R-Design [Video]

Volvo didn't announce they were bringing something to the New York International Auto Show, but strangely they just introduced the R-Design versions for the redesigned Volvo S60, V60 and XC60. The R-Design versions only include cosmetic changes, meaning you can have it with all the engine options Volvo gives us.

The exterior suffered some changes, specially the front that now features a new "Tech Matte Black" grille with high-gloss black stripes and DRL lights in the bumper. The Ixion wheels are offered with 19 inches for the S60/V60 and 20 inch for the XC60. At the back, the new bumper has an unique diffuser with aero fins and R-Design tailpipes.

Inside we also have several modifications. The new sport seats have a blend of black nubuck textile and perforated leather with embroidered R-design logo with a blue ‘R'. As an optional you can have full leather seats. The nnlays have a perforated look, black leather and contrasting stitching, that joined with the black headliner gives the interior a more distinctive look.

While you can choose any engine from Volvo's lineup, the turbocharged 3.0 liter, six cylinder T6 with 304hp and 440Nm is the one that best suits the R-Design package. But if that is not enough for you, you can have the Polestar Software that boost the engine power to 329hp. Changes have been made to the suspensions, which is now lower and firmer, to give the car a sportier feel.

The T6 engine when used together with the automatic gearbox will accelerate (0-100km/h [62mph]) the S60 in just 5.9 seconds, while the V60 will need 6 seconds and the XC60, 6.9 seconds.
