Jaguar's Engineered To Order (ETO) division developed what they call "the ultimate road-going but track-ready version of the XK coupe", creating one of the rarest, and probably one of the most expensive, models from the British company history, since production will be limited to 30 cars.
But you will get many new things. The XKR-S GT has bespoke aerodynamic components, like the carbon-fiber front splitter, dive planes, extended wheel-arch spats, the rather large rear wing, rear diffuser and aluminum valance that give the car a bigger down-force (145kg / 319lb).
Changes were also made to the suspension that now features a twin-spring system, whose height can be adjusted, with adaptive dampers for an improved high-speed cornering. The new steering system was taken from the F-Type and has a faster steering ratio.
One important thing that was also improved was the braking system. A system that now includes 398mm and 380mm (front and rear) carbon ceramic discs gripped respectively by six- and four-piston mono-block calipers.
The engine is the same one used in several other sportier models of the British company, a 5.0 liter V8 that produces 550PS and 600Nm (442lb/ft) mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and an active electronic differential. The XKR-S GT will take 3.9 seconds to reach 60mph (97km/h) from standstill, while the top speed is limited to 300km/h (186mph).
