New Special Edition Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé Aviator, Limited to 35 Units

|

Rolls-Royce is paying homage to the company's co-founder Charles Stewart Rolls and the Schneider Trophy-winning 1930s Supermarine S6B racing seaplane powered by the firm's "R Type" engine with a special edition version of itsPhantom Coupé.The new Phantom Coupé Aviator Edition, which comes with a special paint job and airplane-inspired trim, will make its world premiere today at the Pebble Beach Quail gathering in California.
The Aviator Grey paint for the body is lightly contrasted by the matt bonnet, window and grille surround.
Inside, a Thommen aviation-grade clock with blood orange needle tips is embedded in the metal foil upper fascia and is complemented by matt black dials for power reserve, speedometer and fuel gauges.
In addition, you will find a lower fascia veneered in mahogany, polished stainless steel veneer ‘onlays’ with bullet-shaped ends and leather floor mats, while the transmission tunnel is dressed in anodised aluminium with exposed torx fixings and swage lines that mimic the oil cooling veins on the S6B fuselage side with the same highlights repeated on the armrests.
"Our founding forefather Charles Stewart Rolls was a pioneer who pushed the boundaries of motoring and aviation to the limit," said Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös. “With our exclusive Phantom Coupé Aviator Collection we celebrate this great British hero, presenting a car which hints at experiments in early flight married to the best engineering, modern design and exquisitely crafted materials."
The new Rolls Royce Phantom Coupé Aviator Edition will be produced in a strictly limited number of 35 units with pricing to be announced.
