2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Turns the 'Ring 5 Seconds Faster than 2012MY [64 Photos]

Mercedes-Benz has released a few more interesting details and a whole lot more photos of its updated and renamed 2013 SLS AMG GTCoupe and Roadster models.
At the presentation of the car in Affalterbach, Germany, AMG chairman Ola Källenius toldAutoblog.com that the more powerful SLS AMG GT Coupe turns the Nürburgring Nordschleife in "a tick under 7:30", thus improving the outgoing SLS AMG Coupe's time (7:35") by a little over 5 seconds.
As a reminder, the GT model's 6.3-litre V8 gains 20 extra horsepower over the previous SLS AMG for a total of at 583hp (591PS) at 6,800rpm, while maximum torque remains the same at 650Nm (479 lb-ft) at 4,750rpm.
Mercedes quotes a zero to 100 km/h (62mph) acceleration time of 3.7 seconds (a 0.1 second improvement), to 200 km/h (124mph) in 11.2 seconds and a limited top speed 317km/h (197mph).
Other notable improvements to the GT model is the re-tuned AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7‑speed sports transmission and the newly developed AMG RIDE CONTROL Performance suspension.
Sales of the 2013 SLS AMG GT in both body styles will start in Europe this October followed by the U.S. in November.
