The Challenger isn't the only Dodge model to dress up in yellow with traces of black as the Detroit automaker will also reveal the special edition 2012 Charger SRT8 Super Bee at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 16.
Inspired by the Super Bee series that was first introduced in 1968 as a member of Dodge’s Scat Pack performance group and was later on revived with the limited-edition Charger SRT8 in 2007, the new edition brings exclusive content inside and out to the 2012 Charger SRT8.
To start, it is only available in two colors: Stinger Yellow or Pitch Black exterior paint with contrasting Super Bee graphics. On the yellow model, Dodge adds satin black hood graphics and black decklid stripes with a solid wide center line flanked by solid dual tracer lines, while the Pitch Black version gets charcoal gray graphics on the hood and decklid.
Other bespoke features include a rear decklid spoilers in matte black on the Stinger Yellow model and matching body color on the Pitch Black version, an SRT badge with a 3-D helmeted bee mascot on the split crosshair grille finished in Gloss Black, and new 20-inch wheels with black painted pockets.
Inside, the 2012 Charger SRT8 Super Bee gets unique Z-stripe cloth performance seats with yellow and silver striping in both the front and rear as well as silver accent stitching and embroidered Super Bee logos on each of the front seat headrests.
The Super Bee logo also appears on the dash plaque and the and the instrument panel’s Electronic Vehicle Information Center at vehicle start up.
Dodge said that the new 470HP Charger SRT8 Super Bee will go on sale in the States in the first quarter of 2012.
